Based on its
extensive knowledge of textile end-use products and markets, DRA has created
a system for describing and forecasting world textile end-use (citizen) consumption
by final product and calculating the implied volumes of different types of
fibre, yarn, fabric and levels of finish.
DRA’s "Textile End-Use Consumption Forecasting System" analyses
current consumption of 300 separate end-use products by region in terms of
20 fibre, 8 yarn, 20 fabric and 6 finish types.
Forecasts and scenarios are produced by calculating the consequences of "what
if" questions relating to relative fibre prices, technical advances,
economic variables, lifestyle changes, fashion trends etc.
